I swell up with pride because that flag is my flag. The same flag my grandfather fought for in the Navy and my father in the Army. But I also know that it is a piece of fabric and it doesn’t define who I am. My patriotism and love for this country does that.

I’m Mexican-American ad my chest swells up with pride for both the American and Mexican flag. It took me a while, but I can honestly say I’m proud to be an American.

I can not speak for all African_Americans, but the ones that I served with in SEA sure as heck do. Think about the question, many of those who have served and are serving have pride. Why don’t you sign up and find out what I am talking about.

Since I am black most of them I know don’t swell up with pride unless they served for the country.
