I think American Blacks have a good reason to be angry with USA. Historically, they have not been treated fairly as citizens, and of course the horrible beginning so many had in slavery!
Most Blacks still feel disenfranchised in the US.

I think they have a lot of pride when it comes to their race, but Who really could have pride in a country who isn’t proud of you. Would you be proud of a country that is as racial as we americans. that is another reason I want to see Obama as president.Maybe he can get the blacks all they deserve. You know how the good ole boys think and do.(and by the way,I’m white and from the deep south and I’m tired of racism)

WHY are you worried about how black people feel. AND you act like all black people are robots or something, like we are not different. to make this short—you sound IGNORANT.

I would hope that all Americans are proud of America.

I have no pride nor respect for America…and! Please don’t speak for anyone. Ask your question but don’t assume, you know what they say about assuming.

I am thankful for the opportunities afforded to me because I am an American, but why would I be proud of a country who isn’t proud of me? I’m not an Anti-American. I felt great pride in our country during the Olympics, but everything else is embarrassing. It feels like our voices aren’t heard and are often ignored in this country. Our ancestors literally built this country but we only share the same rights as white people on paper. Jim Crow is gone, but we still experience Covert racism. Once this country elects a Black president that doesn’t get assasinated, (even if he/she comes after Obama) I will proud of the progress the country has made.
